Graduate

In 2013-14, the Program in European Cultural Studies welcomed its first group of Graduate Affiliates (GAs), with funding from a major grant from the David A. Gardner โ€™69 Magic Project. Since then, with the ongoing support of the Humanities Council, ECS GAs have organized lectures, conferences, reading groups, and workshops under the rubric Dialogues on European Cultural Studies.

Events created by ECS GAs have included public lectures by eminent scholars; lunchtime workshops on topics in intellectual history, architectural theory, media studies, literary history, art history, and the philosophy of science; conferences featuring ECS GAs and undergraduate certificate students presenting their own interdisciplinary research; and a variety of activities undertaken by reading groups organized by ECS GAs. ECS GAs also serve as mentors to our undergraduate certificate students.
