Adeline Heck graduated with PhD in the department of French & Italian at Princeton University, specializing in 19th-century French literature and its interactions with music. Born and raised in Paris, Adeline trained as an opera singer before choosing the academic route. Her dissertation focuses on the French reception of Richard Wagner between 1860 and 1900, with a particular emphasis on the Symbolist publication, La Revue Wagnérienne (1885-1888), and the work of its contributors. Her work aims to examine various textual sources, from music reviews to novels, in order to determine Wagner’s impact on literary modernity.
