Natalie Dupêcher is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in the Department of Art and Archaeology. She studies twentieth-century art in Western Europe and the United States, with a specialization in the historical avant-garde and Surrealism. Her dissertation considers the art and writing of Hans Bellmer, and related interests include the intersection of visual art with literature; poetry, narrative, and linguistic structures; psychology and psychoanalysis; and the human figure and mechanization of the body.
Natalie was the 2015-16 Museum Research Consortium Fellow in the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. She has also served as a Graduate Fellow in the Princeton Writing Program. Prior to arriving at Princeton, she received an M.A. from the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art.
