Program in European Cultural Studies

This will be a lecture followed by a roundtable discussion.

Focused on works by Robert Smithson, Giotto, and Mantegna, the video project Fugitive Mirror explores artworks as interruptions in the flow of animate and inanimate matter. Under the provisional conditions of the artistic intervention, death appears inside of life, and life inside of death.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.

Respondents: Beatrice Kitzinger (Art and Archaeology) and Spyros Papapetros (Architecture)
